The Department Of Environmental Science and Studies invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of Natural Resource Management and Conservation to begin in August 2023. We seek an interdisciplinary scholar who can address natural resource management issues from scientific perspectives. We are interested in applicants who will make use of the forests and other environments on our 27,000 acre campus in their research program and pedagogy. Applicants with a background in science, and experience and interests related to sustainable forest management, carbon forestry, biodiversity conservation, watershed management, environmental markets, and related topics are encouraged to apply. On campus research opportunities are abundant and include the long-leaf pine project ( and the recently established Biological Field Station. We also envision our new faculty member investing in established departmental partnerships, including those with The Nature Conservancy and Coosa River Basin Initiative.
