Conference Information for Presenters at Sessions

Virtual Conference Information for Paper Session Presenters

Individual presenters at sessions will be sharing a video presentation using narrated PowerPoint, uploaded to YouTube. Links to YouTube video presentations will be uploaded to the Whova conference app.

Following the session there will be a scheduled moderated live question and answer (Q&A) session where all presenters in that session can interact with other participants and discuss questions in a panel format. The Whova App will also facilitate asynchronous discussion boards for each session to allow participants and presenters to continue their interaction throughout the conference.

Requirements for All Presenters: PowerPoint 2016 or better,  Google Account for YouTube, and active 2020 IASNR membership.

How-to guide (For Reference Only): Making a Narrated Power Point Presentation and saving it to YouTube. Recorded presentations should be 10-15 minutes in length.

Summary of your process

By June 15th, 2020

  1. Ensure that you have purchased or renewed your 2020 IASNR membership, so that you can participate in the conference.
  2. Create PowerPoint Presentation Slides (PowerPoint 2016 or better).
  3. Record Slide Show using PowerPoint’s Record Feature (Side Show > Record Slide Show)
  4. Review Slide Show, make your improvements, ensure sound quality is sufficient. If you need a presentation mentor, please email [email protected], and we can find you someone at no cost.
  5. Export the PowerPoint slide show as a video (File > Export > Create a video)
  6. Go to YouTube, login under the presenter’s personal account
  7. Upload Video, and enable sharing.
  8. Copy link to the video
  9. Login to IASNR Website, click on “Edit” abstract, and paste the video link
  10. Submit the abstract with the video link.
  11. Please send an email to [email protected] to indicate that you have uploaded your video.

Between June 15th and July 1st, 2020

  1. IASNR’s Academic Committee will review the video for quality and clarity. If there are issues, they’ll provide you with feedback to improve the video.
  2. Videos are finalized.

Between July 1st, 2020 and July 11th, 2020

  1. The link to the video will be made available publicly to all current members to view on the Whova app a few days before the conference.
  2. All IASNR members will be granted access to Whova to put in a profile and introduce themselves. Discussion boards will be starting and preliminary discussions can begin to happen. Members can start networking with each other.
  3. The program will indicate when the Live Q&A will take place. Presenters and panel members should allocate time to attend.
  4. If appropriate, moderators in each session will email all presenters in that session a few questions to start discussions during their Live Q&A.

During the Conference: July 11th to July 26th, 2020

  1. All members will be granted access to the conference, taking place using Whova.
  2. Participants and presenters are welcome to join the live Q&A, workshops, and discussion boards
  3. The presenters’ Q&A sessions will be in panel format, with all presenters and participants that are participating in the session logged in live within Whova. All sessions will be moderated.
  4. All message boards, separated by session topic, will be open for further engagement for the entire conference. We encourage all presenters to check the message boards once a day during the conference at a time of their convenience to respond to questions.
  5. Presenters can put a request through to [email protected] to organize live “office hours”, if deemed appropriate, to have live conversations with participants, subject to availability.
