Preparations continue for the 2022 IASNR Conference on the theme of “Sustainable Development in Practice: Integrating People, Place, and Policy.” The conference is hosted by the University of Costa Rica (UCR), Texas A&M University, and the University of Georgia. The conference will take place at the UCR campus in San José, Costa Rica from June 26-30, 2022. Planned conference field trips include: a day trip to Tapantí National Park; a day tour of sustainable coffee co-ops; a San José city tour; and a UCR tour by and for students. Abstract submissions are welcomed through February 4, 2022. The call for organized session proposals closed on November 5, 2021, but the committee will consider late proposals on a case-by-case basis. Please email [email protected] for more information. See the conference website for a preliminary schedule, travel tips, and other information. Please contact the IASNR Office ([email protected]) with any questions. Protecting the health and safety of everyone attending the IASNR Conference as well as the community is the highest priority for IASNR. At the December Council meeting, we will vote on a proposal that will require third-party verification of COVID vaccination for all participants in the 2022 Conference. We recognize that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic will restrict the ability of many members to attend the in-person IASNR 2022 Conference in Costa Rica and we are committed to offering opportunities for robust virtual engagement.
