Notes from the Executive Officers
With the close of 2021, we are slowly returning to old ways, as well as forging new possibilities to connect ourselves to research processes, learning strategies, and engaging the communities in which we work. We hope this newsletter finds you healthy and creative in the larger goals of understanding relationships between people, environment, and natural resources. This past year’s virtual IASNR Conference was successful in many ways, including the several roundtable discussions that provided insight to ways in which our IASNR committees could direct their efforts. A resounding message from the conference sessions and roundtables was that our membership is enthusiastic about the scholarly niche IASNR fills, and that our sessions and speakers reflect an innovative spirit for connecting society and natural resources – all wrapped-up in a welcoming and constructively-supportive community. In addition, the keynotes were well-attended and generated context for several questions/comments within the research sessions. Also, the community board was active with networking discussions that were professional, personal, and made for good reading during the conference.
We’d like to highlight some events and initiatives going on within IASNR:
Thank you for being a member of the International Association for Society and Natural Resources. If you have ideas or would like to get involved, please let us know! See you at the Conference in June!
