Due to concerns raised about the potential for people to inadvertently vote more than once, we are re-doing this vote using Survey Monkey to ensure only one vote per person using unique voting links. We take this vote very seriously, and we want to make sure that we capture the true voice of our members and that the final decision of changing the ISSRM name truly represents what our members want.
In this spirit, we sincerely ask for your help. If you are a current 2020 IASNR member, you will soon receive an email from Survey Monkey with your unique voting link. If you already voted, please vote one more time using this unique link. If you have not yet voted, please use the link provided in this upcoming email to cast your vote. All votes will be kept confidential.
We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank you for your commitment to IASNR.
Please find below the original description of the vote:
The IASNR Council has recommended changing the name of our annual meeting and this is a voting matter for the membership. There has been some confusion between the name of our flagship conference—the International Symposium for Society and Resource Management (ISSRM)—and the name of the association and our journal, Society & Natural Resources. Some people who attend ISSRM are not aware that it is sponsored by IASNR. In order to create tighter organizational identity, Council has embarked on a process to rename the ISSRM to more closely resemble the other names. It is now time for IASNR members to take a vote on this issue. The vote will be open until August 7th. The results of the vote will be sent to IASNR members the week of August 10th.
Please email Jessica Hill ([email protected]) if you have any questions.
