We are writing to inform you that the in-person 2021 ISSRM / IASNR Conference will not be held in Portland, Oregon, USA; instead, we are working towards a virtual IASNR Conference for 2021.

It is definitely disappointing for all of us especially after the tremendous energy and work that our Portland Organizing Committee has put into the planning the conference. However, after much deliberation with IASNR Council, the 2021 host team decided to cancel the in-person conference for 2021. This decision was made based on the uncertainties associated with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the physical and financial risks to potential conference attendees. We hope to reschedule an in-person conference in Portland, Oregon in the near future.

Two months ago, many of you took part in our first-ever IASNR virtual conference. Many of you also shared with us your experiences and provided valuable feedback about the content, organization, and logistics of the virtual conference. If you have additional thoughts or feedback, please share them with [email protected]. Equipped with your input, we will be planning and launching a virtual 2021 IASNR Conference to enable members like you to share your research and have the professional discussions that are at the core of our organization’s mission. We will be forming a very international committee to plan the virtual 2021 IASNR Conference. If you are interested in joining this planning committee, please email [email protected].

Again, we want to very much thank Max Nielsen-Pincus and Troy Hall for their leadership with the 2021 ISSRM / IASNR Conference. We also want to thank all the members of the Organizing Committee (Jennifer Allen, Kelly Biedenweg, Susan Charnley, Ashley D’Antonio, Emily Jane Davis, Kindra De’Arman, Melissa Haeffner, Heidi Huber-Sterns, Kreg Lindberg, Shannon Murray, Craig Shinn, Susan Sidder, Hollie Smith, Dave White, Eric White) for their effort of planning the in-person conference in Portland, Oregon.

We hope you stay safe and well! Please email [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.

Best regards,

~ IASNR Executive Officers, IASNR Council, and IASNR Office
