The Canadian Forest Service is looking for a social scientist to fill a researcher position at the Northern Forestry Centre in Edmonton. The research would focus on human dimensions of wildfire but they also want to have a pool of candidate likely to work on other issues such as cumulative effects of natural resource development, caribou conservation, climate change or other forest topics. So it might be worth advertising this to people who are interested or have experience on other topics than wildfire because this pool could be used to fill other positions without further advertising. Also while the title for this call has been labelled “research sociologist”, the description covers a wide range of social science disciplines. Click here for more information.
